- We agreed
- We have until November.
- Virtual Communities
- This discussion stemmed from several events.
- As a group we feel a need to publicize our activities to the campus.
- Discussion of email format and online discussion group format.
- At this point we will start with email, possibly growing to a forum as time passes.
- We want to connect with people throughout campus, not just faculty.
- Basic idea (at this point) is to find a way to
- Send an email from 7TLT.
- Send to everyone on campus
- Allow people to "opt out" of future mailings
- Send out one "general" email each semester thereafter, asking people to "opt in" instead.
- Want to have three or four parts to each newsletter:
- Cool Classroom Stuff
- TLT News
- Conferences/Workshops on Teaching & Learning
- Food for Thought
- Ivan organizes content, Sharon deals with technical.
- Oct. 30 is our target day for the first message.
- Cohorts - Discussed need to re-examine the value of learning communities in light of specific, track-able cohorts. More on this next meeting.
- Seattle Workshop - deadline is fast approaching, we need to develop criteria for selection, coordinate with administration on how many will be going, and get word out to faculty. More on this next meeting.
