All assignments are due the next class session unless indicated otherwise!

  • Week 1 (1/16 - 1/20) -- Orientation, Drawing Tools, and
  • Week 2 (1/22 - 1/27) --
    • Lab Hours are from 3 - 6 Monday through Friday, and 2 - 5:30 on Saturday.
    • Review, Ch. 3
    • Uploading your work
    • Lecture: Keyframes & Timelines
    • Viewing: Monochrome Animations
    • Homework Discussion: Develop a short monochromatic (one color) 5-second frame-by-frame animation on any subject.
    • CAT: Muddiest Point
    • Lab Assignment: Ch. 4 -- Remember to upload!
  • Week 3 (1/29 - 2/3) --
    • Monday (1/29) is 12th Class Day -- Instructors, please certify your classes!
    • Group Critique: Frame-by-Frame Animations
    • Lecture, Ch. 5 -- Shape Tweens
    • Viewing: Animations in Television
    • Homework: Create a tv intro (that thing at the beginning of the TV shows that says who is starring, who the directors are, etc) for a TV show called "My Impossible Life." Your project must be at least 15 seconds long, and must make extensive use of shape tweening. Don't forget about layers! They will be helpful!!
    • Lab: Ch. 5 -- Remember to upload!
  • Week 4 (2/5 - 2/10)
    • Todd Galina, Flash Animator, has two short Flash files that show how he works with scans and how he arranges animation in a Flash movie. These are great overviews! Pay attention to all the layers and objects.
    • Lecture, Ch. 6
    • Lab, Ch. 6
    • Homework: Watch an episode of Sesame Street. The show airs on PBS and Noggin.
    • Project One -- Sesame Street (due March 7)
      • Storyboard due by next week
