It is your responsibility to read and follow these instructions. If you have questions please let your instructor know as quickly as possible.

Abbreviations & Icons

type = type of assignment
  • Bookwork = work through the chapter, performing all exercises. Bookworks are graded assignments equaling 25% of your final grade.. The first class session of each week will be used for bookwork. (In evening classes, the 1st 1/2 of the class will be used for bookwork.) If you cannot complete bookwork in the allotted time you are expected to attend lab or complete the work at home.
  • Readings = articles or chapters that should be completed BEFORE the class session
  • Exercises = short graded papers or projects
  • Activities = ungraded assignments done in class that expand on material on the textbook or from lecture.
  • References = documents provided for additional information. You will never be tested on a reference document. If you're falling behind in class, the reference documents should be ignored.
  • Admin = administrative items needed to make the class run more smoothly.
  • Notes = tips on how to handle particular assignments.

Exercise Record a cartoon from commercial break to commercial break. Write a 1/2 page critique of the cartoon, pretending that the animators used Flash. Describe what techniques the animators used (shape tweening, motion tweening, motion guides, easing, etc.). You will present your findings in class.
