Pick a Degree or Certificate Plan

North Lake College offers degrees and certificates in Web Design, Web Development, and E-Commerce.

What is a Certificate? What is a Degree?

A certificate is the shortest formal program of study offered by the college. A certificate can usually be completed in two or three semesters. (The average semester is sixteen weeks, although some classes are offered in eight-week fast-track semesters.) Most certificate programs are designed as stepping-stones to degree programs. In other words, once you've finished a certificate in an area the classes you have taken also help fill the requirements for a degree. We like to recommend students start with a certificate plan so students will have marketable skills as quickly as possible.

A degree is a longer program of study cumulating in an Associates of Applied Sciences Degree. These degrees usually take a minimum of four semesters to earn.

The amount of time needed to complete any certificate or degree is dependant on how many courses you can take during a semester. Adults working full-time jobs generally cannot complete a certificate as fast as a full-time student.
